Applying for the New Payroll Protection Program and other SBA Disaster Resources
The Payroll Protection Program was passed by Congress on March 27th and includes $350 billion in funding for loans to small businesses and other entities, including sole proprietors and some non-profits, with zero-fee loans up to $10 million dollars. Under this program, up to 8 weeks of average payroll and other costs will be forgiven if the business retains its employees. Alternatively, the EIDL program provides disaster loans of up the $2 million dollars to businesses impacted by the crisis with favorable terms and a $10,000 advance that converts to a grant.
This is an opportunity to learn more about these programs and how your business can take advantage of these resources. SBA staff will review the programs and how to apply, as well as take questions.
