Keynote Speaker
Eric Batista, City Manager, City of Worcester

Eric D. Batista has served as City Manager of Worcester, Massachusetts since December of 2022. A dedicated public servant, he is committed to ensuring the municipality delivers exceptional public services and operations that are rooted in equity, innovation, and integrity, and centered on people.
Batista has led the second largest city in New England through a time of unprecedented growth, working to ensure opportunity remains available to everyone in the city regardless of their background or situation in life. Under his leadership, Worcester has expanded its employment base; grown its stock of affordable housing; elevated diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts; and prioritized public health and safety.
During his tenure, Batista's Administration has established the Worcester 311 Customer Service Center to expand constituent services and community development, created a Pavement Management Program to assist major roadway and infrastructure improvements, relaunched the Keep Worcester Clean program to lead Clean City Initiatives, and developed a Housing Production Plan to address the City's housing needs. In October 2024, the municipality launched a five-year Strategic Plan that envisions Worcester as the best-managed city in the country.
Governor Maura Healey appointed Batista to both the Housing Advisory Council and the Massachusetts Department of Transportation's Board of Directors in January and September 2024, respectively.
