Stepping Up for Girls is the annual celebration of the United Way of Central Massachusetts Women’s Initiative, bringing together community members, local organizations, and supporters who share a commitment to creating brighter futures for girls.

Now in its 24th year, the event celebrates the local programs and partnerships creating meaningful opportunities for girls across Central Massachusetts, while recognizing women whose leadership is making a difference in the community. This year also marks 20 years of Dollar Scholar, a financial literacy and mentorship program that connects middle school girls with women from the community.

This year, we are proud to honor:

Jillian Keans, Co-Founder and Co-Executive Director of Her Way Home Worcester, recipient of the Lois B. Green Leadership Award

Gifty Kessie, Supplier Quality Engineer at Boston Scientific and Founder of AfroFit Fusion, recipient of the Meridith D. Wesby Young Leader Award

Join us for an evening of connection, celebration, and community impact, and learn how you can be part of creating more opportunities for girls to grow, build confidence, and thrive.
