DESCRIPTION:This months event will feature an economic update with guest speaker\, Town Manager\, Julie Jacobson.\n\n\n\nJulie A. Jacobson was appointed Auburn's Town Manager January 2011. She has 30 years of experience in government and is the first town manager under Auburn's Amended Town Charter\, which previously had a Town Administrator. She has implemented a comprehensive Reorganization Plan which consolidated 25 departments into 9\, \n\n \n\nPrior to her town manager position in Auburn\, Julie became the Assistant City Manager in Worcester in September of 2004\, the first female assistant city manager in the history of the City. She also served simultaneously as Chief Development Officer and the Chief Executive Officer of the Worcester Redevelopment Authority. Julie worked for the City of Worcester for more than 22 years\, joining the staff of the city's Economic Development Office in 1985 and eventually becoming the director of economic development.
