SUMMARY:Business & Government: Massachusetts Business Immigration Coalition
DESCRIPTION:Business & Government Forum - Join the Massachusetts Business Immigration Coalition and the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce for a forum on immigration and workforce integration:\n\n \n\nMaking the Most of Worcester's Global Talent \n\n \n\nWorcester is a growing and dynamic city\, with an increasingly diverse population drawn from across New England and around the World. Global talent is crucial to the success of many of our region's most important economic sectors -- from healthcare\, to manufacturing\, to hospitality.\n\n \n\n But right now\, for multiple reasons\, that talent is often underused. Highly skilled professionals are stuck in low-paying jobs that do not use their expertise. Language barriers keep excellent workers from getting promoted. Entrepreneurs eager to start new businesses find it too difficult to navigate through the process. Some of our companies' most valued employees are living in fear that harsh new immigration policies will cost them their work permits and break up their families.\n\n \n\nIf we want Greater Worcester to continue its path to greater and greater success\, we need to nurture the global talent that we've drawn to our city -- 100\,000 strong across the Worcester metro area\, and a key part of our workforce.\n\n \n\nThat's why the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce has joined the new Massachusetts Business Immigration Coalition\, to help advance policies that enable us to make the most of our region's rich diversity - and contribute powerfully to success for our businesses and prosperity for all.\n\n\n\nPlease join us for a conversation about key challenges for Worcester employers and entrepreneurs\, policy options at the federal\, state and local levels\, and how business leaders can make an impact by working together.
