He also runs the Amazon Picking Challenge robotic manipulation contest. Joey joined Kiva Systems after completing his Ph.D. at the University of California at Santa Barbara in distributed coordination for teams of robots. He has been with the company through its acquisition and growth into Amazon Robotics. The pilot program incorporates smart meters\, advanced distribution automation\, in home technology\, dynamic pricing plans and demand response programs. In Bill's more than 20 years of experience with National Grid\, he has held a variety of leadership positions in performance and strategy\, merger integration\, information technology\, global finance\, electric operations and network strategy. Bill holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Babson College.
