DESCRIPTION:Program Topic: The Value of Combining Business Priniciples w/ Social Objectives\n\n\n\nInterested in networking and connecting with enterprising and knowledgeable women? Do you want to learn from other women or broaden your knowledge of the community? Are you looking to grow your business and share best practices?  Then\, you want to be a part of the Women's Information Network.\n\nThe Women's Information Network (WIN) meets once a month (typically on the third Tuesday) from noon - 1:30 p.m. WIN features guest speakers\; workshops\; demonstrations\; and networking opportunities.\n\n\n\nPresenter: Debra Pallatto-Fontaine\, Ph.D.\, Executive Director for Global Initiatives and the Yunus Social  Business Centre @ Becker College\n\nDebra is currently the Executive Director for Global Initiatives at Becker College.  She is responsible for all global projects\, globalizing the curriculum\, planning and leading service learning trips for students and directing the Yunus Social Business Centre.  \n\nDebra developed a partnership with the Be Like Brit Orphanage in Grand Goave\, Haiti where she leads student trips annually. In addition\, as volunteer director of training\, she travels to Haiti quarterly offering professional development to day and evening staff at the orphanage and teaching social entrepreneurship.\n\n\n\nDebra's presentation will showcase the importance of social business with examples\, and explain how leaders can develop new solutions to solving social problems. It will highlight ways that businesses and organizations can improve their current business practices and support social issues to be a force for change in society.\n\n\n\nParticipants will take away:\n\n\n	How creative models of business (social business\, social enterprise\, entrepreneurship) can create new value in the community\n	Techniques to enhance current community alliances and develop new relationships to maximize social impact for the common good\n	Ways organizations can partner with the Yunus Social Business Centre at Becker College to break down silos\, enhance cross-sector collaboration\, and advance your organization's mission
