Botanical Illustration: Pinecones and Needles (Online Workshop) This program will be held virtually. Once you register you will receive a zoom link in the confirmation. This workshop is LIVE ONLY. Sunday, December 6, 2020 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM Instructor: Carol Schwartz How do you put on paper the many needles of a sprig of pine? Where do you start when drawing a pinecone? In this 2-hour online workshop, work with the instructor in an online video format both as a group and individually to learn how to decipher these complicated botanical forms into patterns that repeat, making them easier to draw. Add color with colored pencils, practicing your skills with blending and building bold color to create a beautiful winter botanical illustration. Material List (Not Included W/ Registration) 1. 2B drawing pencil and kneaded eraser 2. 9"x12" Drawing pad such as Strathmore 400 Series Drawing Paper Pad, Strathmore Toned Tan Sketch Pad, or Canson Mi-Teintes Pastel Pad 3. Colored pencil set: Prismacolor, Faber-Castell Polychromos, or Caran d’Ache 4. Pinecones and Needles to draw Carol graduated from the Kansas City Art Institute, attending her senior year at Rhode Island School of Design. She earned her MFA in Illustration from the University of Hartford, Connecticut in 2014. Her education equipped her to be diverse and adaptable, with work appearing in 60 picture books and countless magazines, newspapers and advertisements. Single class scheduled on 12/6/2020 at 10:00AM
