Business & Government Forum - From Brownfields to a Better Future: Worcester's Path to Progress
Join the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce for its Quarter 1 Business & Government Forum for a panel discussion on the topic of Brownfields and Development.
This forum will explore the challenges and opportunities surrounding the redevelopment of brownfields – sites previously used for industrial or commercial purposes that may require environmental remediation before redevelopment. Attendees will gain valuable insights from a panel of local and regional experts on how such projects can catalyze economic growth, revitalize neighborhoods, and improve environmental conditions.
Key highlights of the event will include an expert panel discussion, opportunities in development, policy and regulation insights, and networking opportunities.
Those who should attend are, but are not limited to, developers and real estate professionals, business leaders, environmental professionals, community advocates, and non-profits focused on sustainable growth, and policymakers and local government officials.
Some notable brownfield redevelopment projects and sites in Worcester include Polar Park and its surrounding residential/commercial developments, the South Worcester Industrial Park, the CitySquare project, and the Greendale Revitalization Project.
Panelist:
- Marylou Armstrong, Senior Vice President of BETA
- Craig Blais, President of WBDC
- Peter Larkin, Former State Legislator
- David Foss, Statewide Brownfields Coordinator at the MassDEP
