Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce 3rd Annual Meeting

Please join the Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce for the 3rd Annual Meeting on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 from 5:30 - 7:30 pm at the Sterling National Country Club. The meeting will include an update on the Chamber’s initiatives in 2024 and outlook for 2025 as well as keynote speaker, Fred Laskey, Executive Director of the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority. Fred will discuss the history and modernization of the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority’s Water System, with a special focus on the Wachusett Reservoir as well as the Town of Clinton and surrounding area.

Frederick A. Laskey is the executive director of the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority, a public authority that provides drinking water and wastewater transport and treatment for 3.1 million people in eastern and central Massachusetts. Appointed in 2001, Mr. Laskey manages the 1,200 employees of the MWRA who operate and maintain this important infrastructure with an operating budget of over $900 million. He has overseen over $4 billion of capital construction projects to complete the clean-up of Boston Harbor, along with the Charles, Mystic and Neponset Rivers, and to upgrade the drinking water system to meet the requirements of the federal Safe Drinking Water Act. Mr. Laskey is the Chairman of the Water Supply Protection Trust, created in 2004 to ensure the protection of the 240,000 acres of watershed land in four watersheds surrounding MWRA’s source waters. Under his leadership, MWRA has been recognized nationally for its sustainability and renewable energy initiatives, including wind, solar, hydro and methane. Before joining MWRA. Mr. Laskey served as Commissioner of the Massachusetts Department of Revenue from 1999 to 2001. He served as Secretary of Administration and Finance from 1998 to 1999. Mr. Laskey is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Boston.
