Creative Writing Walk
Creative Writing Walk This program will be held outdoors in the gardens. Group size will not exceed current state restrictions. Please note, there is currently construction happening at Tower Hill which may result in altered or obstructed walkways, parking lots, and parking spaces, in addition to some noise. Saturday, May 15, 2021 11:00 AM-12:30 PM $15 members / $25 non-members Max Participants: 15 Instructor: Julie Rumrill Experience poetry on a path in paradise, as Julie leads you on a mindful stroll through the gardens. Join us in the age-old tradition of nature immersion to appreciate the beauty and wisdom of the natural world. We will pause to observe, write, reflect, stretch, and connect mind, body, and spirit within the sanctuary of Tower Hill. Be inspired by the words of great nature poets as technology and schedules fade away. The walk will conclude with the creative synthesis of community poetry. You will leave feeling literally connected and calm (No poetic experience needed!). Please bring a journal and pen, a water bottle, and cushion or mat to sit on (optional). Wear sunscreen or insect repellent at your discretion (paths are mostly shaded). Julie Rumrill is an Environmental Earth Scientist and nature enthusiast who has been teaching in the department of Earth Science at Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, Connecticut for the past ten years.
