Energy Efficient Home Tour 79 Kendig Street Worcester, MA April 1, 2016 | 1:00 to 3:00 PM Tour Habitat for Humanity's energy efficient home, and meet Marcy Reed, National Grid's MA President. Habitat for Humanity MetroWest/Greater Worcester and National Grid partnered to build its first Veteran Build, Energy Star, LEED for Homes, Net-Zero home using Deep Energy Retrofit construction guidelines located within the Worcester Smart Energy Solutions Program Pilot area. As a result of all the energy-saving features of the home, the house is projected to use 53 percent less energy than comparable new homes. The home was designed and built for Marc Ewings and his wife Sophie, and is adaptable to meet the medical needs of their three sons.
