Health insurance is one of the largest expenses ––aside from payroll –– that an employer has. And it continues to increase.
Health Policy Commission (HPC) Executive Director David Seltz will provide an overview of health care cost growth in the Commonwealth and the impact of cost containment efforts stemming from Chapter 224, omnibus health care cost containment legislation passed in 2012.
Mr. Seltz will highlight the HPC’s recent findings on health care transparency and the increasing cost impact of prescription drugs. He will also speak to the HPC’s three new innovation investment programs, which create an unprecedented opportunity for Massachusetts providers, health plans, and their partners to receive funding to test and spread innovations that advance the Commonwealth’s cost containment goals while improving access to high-quality care.
