A college degree is a step toward workplace success. Work experience through an internship is now also seen as an essential step. Still many millennials have both of those and remain unemployed or underemployed. The missing piece, to landing your first job, according to many studies, is soft skills. The Chamber’s Higher Ed - Business Partnership is responding by creating this opportunity for college students to develop these skills.
How to participate:
• Participants must be enrolled in a full-time college as an undergraduate.
• Participants must register in advance by the Monday prior to each session.
Opportunities:
1. Meet and network with area employers and business leaders.
2. Hear from hiring directors and HR recruiters what they look for in candidates and new hires.
3. Participate in soft skill training to make yourself more marketable in your career search.
