(Rte. 14), Scotland, CT 06264. (Enter driveway, drive through stone wall opening, park in field to left of homestead.) More info! Who: All historical societies, librarians, or other like-minded organizations that focus on preserving and passing on our history. Topic: The Huntington Homestead, a National Historic Landmark and birthplace of Samuel Huntington, a signer of the Declaration of Independence and a distinguished statesman during the Revolutionary War and early Republic is a remarkably well-preserved site. The 18th century house sits on its original foundation surrounded by acres of farmland. Mehitabol Huntington will share some recipes of the past, from the days of “Hearth Cooking.” This presentation by Gov. Huntington Trust Members about “This Old House”, will also touch on the struggle/wish for greater support of W3R (Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary Route), an historic wonder itself. Why: Rich history exists in our National Heritage Corridor. Stories beg to be passed on, and our skills & talents shared!
