Manufacturing/Business and Government Roundtable- German Consulate Advisor, Lucius Lichte
Please join the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce as we welcome German Consulate Science and Technology Advisor, Lucius Lichte, to discuss the progress of the manufacturing sector in Germany as a global leader in the industry and how our local companies can use Germany's best practices including their apprenticeship and employee retention programs.
Education and technology marketing abroad is a key element to the work of the German Foreign Office. As the leading advisor for Science and Technology at the German Consulate in Boston, Lucius Lichte works to build bridges between companies, academic institutes, research facilities and individuals.
But the marketing of Germany strengths does not end with research and technology. In close collaboration with the German American Chamber of Commerce in New York and the German American Business Council in Boston, Lucius has led workshops and briefings on the Skills Initiative for government and industry representatives.
The Skills Initiative was started by the Federal Ministry for Education and Research and the German Foreign Office to highlight the success and potential of the internationally-renowned German apprenticeship training system. Lucius is an agricultural economist by training and holds an MS from the University of Hohenheim and a BA from the University of Kiel. His research focused on issues of market and skills development.
