Pop Up Yoga: Yoga Nidra
Pop Up Yoga: Yoga Nidra This program will be held indoors in one of our well-ventilated classrooms. Group size will not exceed current state restrictions. Sunday, April 11, 2021 2:00-2:50 PM Max Participants: 10 $10 members / $17 non-members Instructor: Julie Rumrill Join Julie for a special offering that combines intrinsic intention-setting with Yoga Nidra, a healing and transformational practice. A core essence of well-being, Yoga Nidra is a discipline of yoga that promotes conscious immersion in a state of serenity, which occurs a few moments before a person falls asleep. It is often referred to as "sleep with awareness". Allow yourself to unplug, unwind, and be led in a guided meditation to a state in which your body is completely relaxed, and you become systematically and increasingly aware of your inner world. Combined with intention setting, the practice will allow you to delve deeply into the self, restore the body’s resources, uncover hidden potential, and access incredible opportunities. We practice Yoga Nidra in Savasana posture, lying down on a yoga mat, covered with a blanket, and there is nothing to do but to notice, listen, and breathe. Please bring your own mat, a pen and journal, an eye pillow or scarf, a small pillow (if you'd like, for the neck or behind the knees), socks and comfortable clothing to stay warm. Julie Rumrill is an Environmental Earth Scientist and nature enthusiast who has been teaching in the department of Earth Science at Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, Connecticut for the past ten years.
