Small Business Bootcamp
Join The Center for Women & Enterprise and Western Governors University for this free, two-hour bootcamp aimed at helping new business owners. Three 15-min workshops cover topics such as getting your business started, hiring and retaining talent, and one 30-min workshop on promoting your business with publicity and social media. A limited number of free headshots will also be available during the session. Light refreshments.

Getting Started – Where Do I Begin? (6:00-6:15pm)
Abigail Perrine is Director of Assessment & Curriculum for the College of Business at Western Governors University. She has more than 15 years of experience in business operations and planning. Jared Perrine is Director of Technology at Narragansett Regional School District. He has worked in K12 education and technology for more than 20 years.
Leadership Models to Build and Retain a Top Talent Team (6:15-6:30pm)
Gloria Bruce is strategic partnerships manager at Western Governors University, from where she also earned her M.S. in leadership and management. She has more than 15 years of community, corporate, and non-profit leadership analysis and development experience.
Train to Retain: Employee Success from Day One (6:30 -6:45pm) Penny Griswold is a Program Mentor in the College of Business at Western Governors University. With more than 20 years of experience, she’s served in a variety of roles within higher education, financial services and staffing, and holds both an MBA and a MEd in Instructional Design.

LinkedIn Best Practices (7:00-7:30pm) Jamie Cocco is a CWE Instructor and the founder of Empowered Social Media. He is the self-proclaimed social media nerd who has spent the last 7 years of his life dedicated to understanding, optimizing, and teaching others how to use social media effectively. In this session we will discuss key concepts when it comes to LinkedIn business pages and how to optimize your page for success.
