In September of 1972, 10,000 volunteers lined the banks of the Blackstone River to remove tons of trash, appliances, furniture, cars, and even a school bus from its banks. It became the largest one-day regional environmental clean-up in American history!
On the 50th anniversary of this event, we are again planning a massive cleanup throughout the whole Blackstone Valley Watershed in an effort to match the 10,000 volunteers that came out in 1972.
The Worcester Green Corps will be leading the Worcester portion of the river clean-up. Join us to contribute to the 50th anniversary of this amazing event!
Saturday Aug 27, 2022

We will be working from 9am - 3pm. Feel free to stay the whole day, or come and go for any segment of time.
We will be meeting at the Blackstone River Bikeway in Worcester. The site is located at 1265 Millbury Street, Worcester, MA. From there we will break off into smaller groups and tackle as much of the river as we possibly can!
