We are looking for a full-time Principal Materials Engineer who loves working in a dynamic environment and is excited to grow with a team around advanced additive & powder technologies. As a materials engineer with Solvus Global you will work with team members from many fields (mechanical, controls, software, etc.) to identify part-production opportunities, define the material and process challenges, develop the process & procedure, validate the process, and ultimately deploy the process into full production.
As a Principal Materials Engineer on this team, you will especially be responsible for leading the team(s) through rapid innovation in material and process development, as well as interfacing with external customers to ensure that our teams meet their needs. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include leading team activities, making cost-effective materials utilization decisions, and driving the business case for additive manufacturing. You will work closely with C-level management to identify and drive new business avenues, as well as manage both the technical and personnel aspects of your projects and make key business decisions driving the company 3-5 years down the line.

Required Attributes & Skills

  • Technical expertise in materials engineering; ideally related to metals and/or additive manufacturing
  • 5+ years of experience in materials engineering & customer interfacing roles
  • Experience leading teams in project execution
  • Demonstrated capability of interfacing with external customers
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in revenue generation and strong understanding of business value
  • US Person and ability to work on Export Controlled projects

Advantageous Attributes & Skills

  • Degree in Materials Engineering or related field with relevant materials experience
  • Experience in additive manufacturing
