Community Impact Specialist
ABOUT CASA AND THE COMMUNITY IMPACT SPECIALIST ROLE:
CASA Project Worcester County provides a highly specialized volunteer service to abused and neglected children who are involved in the juvenile court system. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is a national organization with over 900 local programs across the country whereby volunteer advocates are recruited, trained, and supervised by program staff. CASA advocates are considered to be the eyes and ears of the court in child abuse proceedings.
The Community Impact Specialist is a fully front-facing, community-focused role responsible for building CASA’s presence, awareness, and engagement across Worcester County and surrounding areas. This individual will drive stakeholder recruitment and engagement through community events, while leading signature initiatives like the annual Backpack and Holiday Drives. The role requires a creative, energetic individual who thrives in interpersonal interactions, enjoys meeting new people, and is passionate about making a tangible difference for youth in foster care. This position reports to the Community Relations Manager and covers Worcester County and surrounding areas.
This position requires evening and weekend commitments and a flexible schedule.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Volunteer Recruitment:
- Develop and act upon comprehensive strategies for recruiting dedicated and diverse CASA volunteers.
- Collaborate with program staff to identify and target key demographics as they relate to recruitment.
- Manage outreach efforts through community events, presentations, workshops, and other avenues that our organization sees fit to attract potential volunteers.
Community Outreach:
- Represent CASA at community events, presentations, tabling opportunities, and networking engagements, including conferences, fairs, and gatherings.
- Build, cultivate, and maintain relationships with regional partners, organizations, and community members.
- Engage key stakeholders and the public to increase aareness of CASA’s mission, programs, and impact.
- Plan and execute logistics for community-facing initiatives, including schedules, materials, travel, deliveries, and team presence.
- Distribute, track, and maintain inventory of branded CASA promotional materials.
- Collect and/or create content (photos and videos) for use in social media, newsletters, and other communications.
- Track outcomes and deliverables from events and initiatives, including participation, volunteer inquiries, donations, expenses, and engagement metrics.
- Participate in strategic planning and evaluation discussions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of community outreach efforts.
Events and Special Projects:
- Lead CASA’s annual Backpack Drive and Holiday Drive, including:
- Planning and coordinating timelines, logistics, and materials.
- Engaging community members, local businesses, donors, and volunteers.
- Coordinating the collection, packaging, and distribution of backpacks, gifts, and supplies.
- Managing promotional and awareness efforts, including social media outreach.
- Serving as the primary point of contact for donors, sponsors, and community partners.
- Collaborate with CASA staff to ensure all community-facing events align with organizational goals and mission.
- Proactively manage and troubleshoot challenges to ensure high-quality, goal-driven event execution.
- Manage year-round inventory of advocate and youth supplies, including tracking quantities, coordinating storage and restocking needs, and ensuring materials are organized and readily available to support advocates, youth, and program initiatives.
- Maintain and manage event inventory (e.g., tables, vases, décor, and related materials), including coordinating rentals or shared use with partner nonprofits and community organizations.
Additional responsibilities may include:
- Support CASA’s efforts to maintain and enhance the Community Resource Guide as a resource for advocate, families, and the Courts.
- Support projects and initiatives related to comprehensive services for CASA youth.
- Participate in regular all-staff meetings.
- Participate in organization-wide events and initiatives that require full team involvement, including occasional evenings and weekends, to support CASA’s mission and community presence.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in nonprofit work, communications, community engagement, volunteer management, marketing, or related fields preferred.
- Experience in community outreach, event planning, public engagement, or project coordination strongly preferred.
- Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to travel throughout Worcester County and surrounding areas required.
- Ability to lift materials and assist with physical event setup as needed.
- Comfortable and confident in public-facing roles, including public speaking and networking.
- Proficiency in social media and digital communications platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences and partners.
- Energetic, flexible, creative, and resourceful, with an innovative approach to community engagement.
- Knowledge of community resources serving children and families is a plus.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with staff and community partners.
- Demonstrated passion for CASA’s mission and commitment to serving youth in foster care.

Job Type: Part-Time / Full-time (30-40 hrs./week)
Salary Range: $30,000-$35,000 per year part-time / $40,000-$45,000 per year full-time
