With their own set of values, norms and worldviews, the Millennial are entering the employment arena with their own unique vision of what it means to “work”. Across the globe, organizations are trying to cope with the influx of these new workers – the most educated and technology savvy in the history of humankind. Collectively the Millennials are team players, favor open and frequent communication with management and are comfortable with the ever evolving technology landscape. However, they are entering into organizational settings where they need to interact with different generations with radically different perspectives on what is meant by work ethics or employment expectations. How will the Millennial Generational identity change the organizational culture? What kinds of challenges and issues will emerge as this group makes its influence known in the commercial marketplace? What will be the organizational outcomes when the ideas and aspirations of the Millennials intersect with those of other generations? What type of complications and problems will result as organizations grapple with how to communicate with this generation? This presentation will address these Millennial Impact queries by exploring issues such as:
• Communicative interactions in the workplace
• Impact on organizational relationships
• Influence on employee satisfaction and organizational effectiveness
• Changes to decision making, leadership and organizational performance
